Our Corporate Communications team tailors and disseminates the message Bloomberg sends to the marketplace, our clients and employees. We manage Bloomberg’s reputation among the people and organisations who matter most to our company. We do that through engaging with external media and analysts, building relationships with influencers, clients and government and through employee communications.

Are you a creative thinker who can simultaneously execute a variety of communications initiatives -- from content creation to giving strategic counsel to senior level executives, and adapting technical information, to engaging with reporters and analysts? Do you have a track record in communications and a passion to promote the people and products that move markets? Are you a highly organized, process- and detail-oriented team player who also thinks outside the box? What’s the role?

You will be a key member of the EMEA corporate communications team, leading the development of proactive and reactive communications strategies and media and influencer relations campaigns across the Middle East to tell Bloomberg’s story as a financial technology innovator, a great place to work and an essential part of society, both as a financial and media firm, and as an engine that drives impact through philanthropy.

We'll trust you to:

  • Promote and protect Bloomberg's reputation as a provider of market-leading financial information and technology solutions through strategic and effective external communications
  • Provide counsel to senior management and subject matter
  • experts to build the perception of Bloomberg as a financial technology leader, an influential media brand and leading financial information provider among relevant regional audiences

  • Facilitate expert commentary by Bloomberg senior management in-region. Work with senior leaders to develop talking points and help set up meetings with media, analysts and influencers
  • Collaborate with product managers, sales and marketing teams across the business to shape and articulate Bloomberg's commitment to innovation
  • Contribute and write content for Bloomberg's blogs and internal communications platforms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mainstream media, trade and business press
  • Handle reactive and proactive media relations, including crisis communications when necessary
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate metrics to evaluate impact and effectiveness of external communications
  • Identify industry influencers, develop and execute engagement strategies to inspire their awareness and advocacy
  • Develop and execute proactive communications strategies, programmes and tactics around regional proprietary and third-party events
  • Provide media and social media training
  • Manage agency resources

You'll need to have:

  • A background in corporate communications, analyst relations or government relations within financial services or financial technology, with a strong underlying understanding of the financial services industry and its market participants
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to provide timely, appropriate counsel to senior executives
  • The ability to translate key strategic business or financial issues into messaging that resonates with external and internal audience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; persuasive communications ability with internal and external audiences
  • Thorough knowledge of the Middle East media landscape and a solid relationship with external media contacts across the region
  • A capacity to organise and prioritise work under pressure
  • Experience managing and directing a local PR agency

We'd love to see:

  • Proficiency in Arabic
  • A willingness to travel within the region, in particular to
  • the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
