Our Trade Compliance Team is looking for an action-orientated manager who loves trade compliance (both import and export). Our team works to enhance and develop trade practices and procedures in compliance with internal Bloomberg policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations. On any given day we will work with Bloomberg's appointed customs brokers and agents, freight forwarders, local regulatory regime authorities, local Bloomberg business and corporate management as well as internal and external counsel within the APAC region.

Who we look for:

You are the type of person with a strong background in trade compliance (both import and export), who possesses leadership skills to drive process improvements in key risk areas, able to provide oversight and act as our technical expert to the various Bloomberg business units and functions. You're a Subject Matter Export with a thorough knowledge of Hong Kong and U.S. Export/reexport control regulations, with particular emphasis on encryption commodities and have extensive experience in Harmonized Tariff classifications and export control classification determinations.

You'll be placed in a fast-paced environment where you'll demonstrate your strong inter-personal communication skills, strong written and multi-tasking skills gathered from your prior management experience. You are one of those who are comfortable working both independently and as part of a regional and global team with a good understanding of business priorities and working under time constraints.

You need to have:

• An Under-graduate degree; advanced degree in business, law or government affairs
• Comprehensive experience in the international trade arena working for the Hong Kong TID, Customs brokers, international freight forwarders, law firms or combination thereof
• Strong analytical skills and be detailed oriented
• Experience managing a team
• Extensive experience in Hong Kong/China import and export requirements.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Reexport requirements and encryption controls
• Direct experience in utilizing a Global Trade Management Solution (GTMS)

We'd love to see:

• Working knowledge of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)
• Fluency in an additional local non-English language such as Chinese (Mandarin)
• Experience leading a global or remote team
