Bloomberg TV is seeking an ambitious self-motivated, hard-working news editor to join our Asia-Pacific News Desk based in Hong Kong. This is a pivotal role in the newsroom requiring a collaborative attitude across teams and global perspective. You are passionate about business and financial news, demonstrate excellent editorial judgment, organizational and communication skills and have keen attention to detail. You'll need a deep understanding of the trends and coverage areas that matter in the Asia region, strong organizational skills, a knack for cross-team collaboration and experience delivering clear and actionable feedback in a fast-paced environment.
We’ll trust you to:
- Use news judgement to identify the most important stories as well as gaps in coverage
- React to breaking news, allocating and reallocating resources as necessary
- Be a strong editorial voice, providing guidance and support to our live TV and radio broadcasts across multiple regions
- Communicate clearly and remain even-keeled under the pressure of deadlines and breaking news
- Collaborate with global editorial, production staff, on-air talent and colleagues from across Bloomberg's editorial platforms
- Participate in short and long-term editorial planning, pitching stories, coverage ideas, interviews and elements
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 5 recent years of recent editorial experience covering business journalism or financial markets
- Experience working in a real-time news environment
- Experience covering financial markets, economics, companies in a reporting or editing role
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to work under deadline pressure
- Flexibility to adjust working schedule based on business needs
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation
