The Hong Kong Sales Director – is responsible for generating profitable sales revenues from Bloomberg Media' portfolio of platforms from agencies and clients in Hong Kong with a strong focus on the all-important finance category. Based in the Bloomberg Hong Kong Office, the HKSD generates new business, develops major accounts, and expands existing business by increasing share and develops new business and relationships.

This innovative sales person develops strategic alliances with clients, agencies and partners to grow the revenues from major accounts particularly in the Finance category and establish Bloomberg as a strategic partner for advertisers and agencies across our tv & digital platforms as well developing new clients and revenue for our extended suite of products namely Print, OTT, Events.

You will need to have a strong command of our full suite of services and products to help make the right recommendations to our clients at the right time to drive revenue growth. We’re looking for someone who will be viewed by our clients as an extension of their own team: someone who truly understands their business and continually adds strategic value.
We'll trust you to:

  • Deliver the sales revenue target for the HK office categories assigned, including the important Finance category.
  • Work cross-functionally with Editorial, Strategy, Creative, Data Science and Insight, Media Planning, and Events, among others
  • Ensure we are meeting — and exceeding — client expectations and Proactively identify and pursue revenue generating opportunities with new and existing clients and agencies.
  • Use an in-depth knowledge of the markets to contribute to the strategic sales plan.
  • Develop strong relationships with agency / client key decision makers and through all levels in these organisations to maximise revenue opportunities and position the Bloomberg Media as advertising partner of choice.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and forecasts to the Regional Sales Director on current revenue and the sales pipeline.
  • Establish and maintain a network of key business contacts within client and agency businesses.

You need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven recent/relevant advertising sales experience.
  • An ability to prospect and develop new business.
  • A strong understanding of the media advertising landscape across Hong Kong.
  • Self-motivation and an ability to develop new business.
  • Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, problem-solving and time management skills
  • A capability of multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for media, advertising, and business.
