We are the News, Media & Research Recruitment team, with colleagues across Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, London and New York. We manage full life-cycle recruitment for roles across Bloomberg News - one of the world’s leading financial news organizations, producing roughly 5,000 stories a day; BloombergNEF (BNEF) - the world’s leading independent provider of analysis, tools, data and research to decision makers leading the future of energy, transport, technology, and commodities; Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) - the research arm of Bloomberg News, collecting and hosting data on 100+ industries and 4,000+ companies for a wide range of clients; and Media - a premium 24/7 media network, delivering business and financial news across every platform and every time zone.

What’s the role: 

We're seeking an energetic, commercial and collaborative Recruitment Partner to be based in Hong Kong, who believes that talent is the fuel that makes an organisation go round. You don’t just transact but inject advice, well thought out sourcing strategies and key market insights at every step of the recruiting process. You’re also not shy when it comes to partnering with your clients to help identify and hire the best and brightest diverse talent, as well as building your internal and external networks. You bring a deep commitment to building an inclusive workforce, person by person and team by team.  

We'll trust you to: 

  • Quickly build an in-depth knowledge of the businesses and provide a platinum service to stakeholders and candidates 
  • Fully understand the needs of your respective hiring managers’ and collaborate with them to manage the full lifecycle recruitment process from sourcing to onboarding 
  • Think creatively to develop non-traditional talent sourcing strategies to aid specific business strategic initiatives 
  • Source candidates directly through internal and external industry networking, direct head hunting and various online recruiting tools 
  • Stay in tune with external market factors affecting talent, as well as new best practices/trends affecting recruiting 
  • Be agile, resourceful, strategic and demonstrate your ability to pivot across ever-changing priorities 
  • Partner with HR colleagues – HR Business Partners, Leadership & Talent Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Relations, and Mobility & Immigration, to be an effective strategic partner to your business stakeholders 
  • Represent the Bloomberg brand in every interaction 

You'll need to have: 

  • At least 5 years of recent experience as a recruiter including successful recruitment of experienced professionals in an agency/executive search firm or corporate environment 
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, a consultative approach, ability to influence multiple constituents without direct authority and effectively network within a global matrixed organization
  • Ability to capture and organize market intelligence data and build and/or pivot on a sourcing strategy
  • Strong candidate assessment skills and experience using applicant tracking systems and other recruiting-related applications
  • Experience in collaborating and aligning with internal HR and business stakeholders across the region
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills and strategic mindset
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

We'd love to see: 

  • Experience in recruiting for professionals within News, Media & Research
  • Experience implementing successful diversity sourcing strategies/campaigns
  • A track record in mapping new markets and producing competitor intelligence reports
