On any given day as a Market Specialist, you will be consulting with senior decision makers at client accounts, helping to close new sale opportunities, and shaping product development. By evangelizing the Bloomberg Professional Service at market events and through printed material, you become the face of Bloomberg.

Comprised of former traders, portfolio managers, sales representatives, analysts, and more, the department serves as the de-facto application experts at Bloomberg. Our team not only heightens our user base's experience and impacts sales revenue, it plays a vital role in enhancing the knowledge of our sales force and is a dedicated source of client feedback for our product development teams. The team is also able to highlight their market expertise through writing for a variety of publications.

What’s the role?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Analyst/Charting Specialist to join our expanding Application Specialist Group in Hong Kong. Applicants should possess a deep body of knowledge of Technical Analysis and experience in the market. The successful candidate will also be a highly motivated self-starter, comfortable in a demanding and client driven environment.

We'll trust you to:

• Assist the Sales force in furthering our Technical Analysis/Charting franchise and the reputation of our core Technical Analysis/Charting product;
• Meet the high level analytical demands of our customers both on a 1:1 basis and through presenting at seminars and conferences, where appropriate;
• Liaise with both clients and product managers to influence the future direction and development of our product;
• Further enhance the knowledge of our sales force through internal training and seminars;
• Contributing to articles and publications on the subjects of Technical Analysis, charting and data visualization.

You'll need to have:

• Excellent knowledge, written and spoken, in English and Mandarin. Additional knowledge of Cantonese and/or Korean a plus;
• Knowledge of Bloomberg Charts a definite plus;
• Additional knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal also desirable;
• Considerable financial market experience;
• Extensive and proven knowledge / experience in Technical Analysis;
• Knowledge of multiple asset classes including Equity, Fixed Income, Commodity and FX;
• Credible contacts in the market and a strong understanding of the companies and players participating in technical analysis;
• Candidate will have or be pursuing a recognised TA designation (such as CMT or CFTe);
• Excellent communication and customer service skills;
• Willingness to travel extensively.
