The Application Specialist Team is an integral part of our offering. Application Specialists play a central role serving both internal and external clients. Application Specialists are a team of seasoned financial market professionals who interact with Bloomberg clients and prospects, the Bloomberg sales-force and business development. The goal of this interaction is to insure that Bloomberg clients have the products that they need and that they know how to use them, that the sales team understand how to position and demonstrate the products and that developers know what they need to develop going forward.
This summer internship is a ten week programme (2nd July 2018 – 7th September 2018) offering you the opportunity to work across our Application Specialist team.
Upon joining our internship, you will receive one week of classroom based financial product training, aiming to give you an insight into the global financial markets and our market leading Bloomberg solutions. The internship is designed to provide exposure to our business areas, expand your knowledge of the financial markets and introduce you to our analytical solutions.
You'll work hands-on with Application Specialists on projects and will interact directly with clients, adding value by, crafting responses to questions from both internal and external clients, analysing market trends and writing for Bloomberg publications. Your projects will come from a wide range of asset classes including Fixed Income, Equity, Commodities and FX, and product types from cash to derivatives. Projects built around news, social media and regulation may also be available. Bloomberg's recent partnership with Twitter and the build-up to the implementation of MiFID II are examples of current trends influencing the work of the team.
To round out your experience, you will have the opportunity to attend lunch and learn sessions focusing on our diversified group; gain exposure to Bloomberg leaders at a variety of networking events as well as taking part in a variety of volunteering activities with interns from other departments.
Throughout the internship, you will be supported by your line manager, buddy and your recruiter to ensure you receive regular feedback on your work and help navigating the company.
This internship is geared towards individuals who have a strong interest in the financial markets and in sales. As this is a pipeline programme for full time hires, we are targeting penultimate year students graduating in 2019.
