At Bloomberg we work on purpose. The goal of our apprenticeship programme is to help you find yours.

Are you interested in the world of finance? Do you want to learn how data and technology keeps the global markets moving? Our Data Fellowship apprenticeship combines an industry recognised qualification with practical work experience.

Big data is one of the hottest topics in Finance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical skills on our innovative tool, the python Quant platform. We will provide you with the right tools to build on your programming and data management skills. You will be part of a supportive and dynamic team with an entrepreneurial mind, assessing product performances against business needs to drive future developments.

Bloomberg is a company that is constantly innovating and you’ll learn as much about yourself as our business. Bloomberg will support you every step of the way. You’ll get a dedicated line manager, a buddy and a mentor. As you will have exposure to clients, programming, and product, in particular the python Quant platform, a success in the role can open many doors in different career paths at Bloomberg.

Desktop Build Group

The Desktop Build Group works closely with Bloomberg's Sales and Product departments to increase clients' dependency on our terminals by creating desktop solutions. Historically, our offerings revolved around our Excel APIs, however in the last few years the team has leaned towards a new, more powerful product: an internally developed Quant platform that combines Python, a programmatic language and the Bloomberg database.

On top of building solutions, Desktop Build Group influences the enhancement of the product and meets with major market players in finance to gather improvement insights. The projects and daily tasks vary over time: they include conquering market share by migrating client’s workflow from competitors to Bloomberg, building bespoke solutions to fill specific product gaps in the Terminal, or promoting the python Quant platform to clients.
