This Apprenticeship Programme at Bloomberg is an exciting opportunity to take your first steps in changing or starting a rewarding career. During your time with us we will support you in combining work and education - you will have an opportunity to gain a Business Administration qualification while also being an important and highly valued member of the team. We will trust you to build your knowledge of financial markets, investment operations, various asset classes and products to support our clients with your expertise. 

This opportunity will provide you with an alternative route into a global organisation away from the classic university pathway. You'll have a chance to learn from our experts, develop and grow, while working within a collaborative and innovative environment. You will have access to a comprehensive internal training programme and will be provided guidance on every step of your apprenticeship journey to take your career to the next level. 

Group Introduction: Corporate Philanthropy 

Bloomberg Corporate Philanthropy is core to the culture of Bloomberg and has both an internal and external focus. We aim to deliver real, meaningful, and lasting changes around the world focusing on five key areas: the arts, education, the environment, government innovation, and public health. The Corporate Philanthropy team harnesses the company’s resources and the unique expertise and talent of its employees, coordinating the company's partnerships with cultural and charitable organisations globally as well as employee volunteering opportunities across our entire organisation.   

The team also oversees London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE, our award-winning cultural hub, home to a Roman temple, artefacts, and contemporary art gallery. Open to the public the museum is dedicated to providing accessible contemporary art, history and learning for all visitors. We provide a varied programme of events and content to enhance the museum experience and engage with visitors, schools, employees and clients.  

We are looking for an apprentice administrator to join our Corporate Philanthropy team with a focus on London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE. Our comprehensive training will teach you the key concepts and administrative techniques required to work in a business environment. In this role you will gain hands-on experience of working in a professional environment along with an introduction to Corporate Philanthropy, museum management, events, organisation, customer service, history, arts, and culture.   

Your responsibilities:  

  • First point of reference for museum visitors; welcome and positively engage with them consistently always delivering the highest standards of customer service.  
  • An ambassador for the cultural space; develop knowledge on the exhibits, the space and the Bloomberg building to maximise the visitor experience.  
  • Provide a professional and knowledgeable response to all visitor enquiries.  
  • Monitor the space to ensure the space is always being maintained to the highest standards.  
  • Providing tours of the museum and main building. 
  • Assist with the creation, planning, delivery, facilitation and evaluation of visitor engagement and the education programme.  
  • Assist with museum administration, including ticketing, project co-ordination, stock taking, data collection, digital content creation and management.   
  • Event planning, management, and support.  
  • Provide wide ranging administrative support to the wider Corporate Philanthropy team.  

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Available to start September 2022  
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject (Should include Maths & English) 
  • Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject  
  • Learners must possess the right to work in the UK 

We will trust you to have: 

  • Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail  
  • Strong overall computer skills, and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a global team 
  • Ability to take ownership and work simultaneously on a variety of different projects  
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (including excellent writing skills) and ability to build rapport  
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to education, volunteering, arts, history and culture

    Interview Process:

    Step 2: Telephone Interview: Successful candidates will be invited to schedule a 20 minute telephone conversation with a Bloomberg Recruiter. Show us you are motivated. 
     
    Step 3: Assessment Day & Team Leader Interview: Complete some interactive online tasks and exercises designed to help you demonstrate your strengths and abilities. Show us you are capable. 
     
    Step 4: Final Interview: Meet with our Managers to discuss your motivations and potential. Show us you are the best person for the apprenticeship.
