What is the Apprenticeship Programme? 

This Apprenticeship Programme at Bloomberg is an exciting opportunity to take your first steps in changing or starting a rewarding career. During your time with us we will support you in combining work and education - you will have an opportunity to obtain a qualification in Network Engineering while also being an important and highly valued member of the team. We’ll teach you the key skills and techniques required to work in a business where we provide clients with platinum technical service.  
This opportunity will provide you with an alternative route into a global organisation away from the classic university pathway. You'll have a chance to learn from our experts, develop and grow, while working within a collaborative and innovative environment. You will have access to a comprehensive internal training programme and will be provided guidance on every step of your apprenticeship journey to take your career to the next level. 

Introduction to the Bloomberg On-Site Support team 

Our Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) teams provide 24/7 on-site technical solutions to Bloomberg’s internal and external customers in more than 75 countries. Our customers rely on our technology and the support that we deliver to them to be able to do their job in a multifaceted, demanding, and technology-focused environment. 
 
The BOS teams are key to engaging our customers. If a trader can't access Bloomberg, and telephone support can't fix the problem, the BOS team are there to support with their expertise. The BOS team visit clients locally, use their initiative, emotional intelligence and quick thinking to get our customers back on track for success. BOS technicians install and maintain all our Bloomberg hardware at customer sites from routers, servers, screens and keyboards. We also deal with connectivity issues whether that be a network, circuit, cabling or hardware issue making sure the end user is re-connected to Bloomberg as quickly as possible.   
 
Our unwavering dedication to the principle that “customers come first” has allowed us to add real value to the company. We operate as Technical Account Managers when we are on site and make valuable contributions to our clients because of our expertise within Bloomberg. We also collaborate closely with Bloomberg Technical Operations teams. We pride ourselves in offering an excellent customer solution focused service. We seek to listen, understand and pre-empt client needs as well as deliver personal, on-the-ground assistance. We are also core to spotting gaps and opportunities and implementing changes. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Available to start September 2023 
  • at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics and have achieved a Level 3 (A-levels or BTEC) or equivalent qualification 
  • Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject 
  • Possess the right to work in the UK 
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years 

We trust you to have: 

  • Strong customer service skills including telephone etiquette and a professional demeanour 
  • Have excellent spoken and written communication skills including proficiency in English 
  • Be great at time and workload management 
  • Multi-tasking and problem solving skills as well as an ability to work independently and as part of a larger global team 
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and fast paced environment 

Interview Process: 

Step 1: Online Application Form: Submit an online application form along with your most up-to-date CV. Show us you are eligible. 
 Step 2: Telephone Interview: Successful candidates will be invited to schedule a 25 minute telephone conversation with a Bloomberg Recruiter. Show us you are motivated. 
 Step 3: Assessment Day & Team Leader Interview: Complete some interactive online tasks and exercises designed to help you demonstrate your strengths and abilities. Show us you are capable. 
 Step 4: Final Interview: Meet with our Managers to discuss your motivations and potential. Show us you are the best person for the apprenticeship.
