Despite all the challenges of 2020 the App Portal had a strong growth year and is now positioned to scale rapidly. With strong interest from clients and 3rd parties we are excited to deliver new technologies and services to allow our customers to benefit from a partnership with Bloomberg.

What's the role?

We’re looking for a talented solution-sales professional to join our team. You’ll have the vision and domain expertise to build successful sales strategies, and the passion to drive them through to a succession conclusion.

You'll be responsible for sales App Portal in EMEA. You'll work closely with prospective clients to gain a clear understanding of their business needs, and using your consultative approach; devise a way in which App Portal products can help them achieve their business goals.

You will also work closely with strategic 3rd parties on the hosting of their products within the portal. In 2020 we have signed several new providers who will be launching in 2021.

You'll need to demonstrate credibility with a proven competency in solution selling and the ability to communicate technical concepts to C-level executives. You’ll have a deep understanding of buy and sell side workflows, tools used by traders and asset managers, and sell side – buy side communication flows.

We'll trust you to:

  • Create and execute strategies for seeking customer developed applications that would be mutually beneficial if integrated with the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Work with multiple sales groups within to rapidly lead generate within sell-side business areas
  • Be the Subject Matter expert of App Portal products in EMEA to educate both internally and externally
  • Gather requirements for improving the App portal product suite
  • Stay abreast industry trends in front office application development and distribution
  • Understand how our competitive offerings are solving client problems
  • Partner internally with Product Managers in Financial Products to increase adoption with key workflows to better an end users overall terminal experience with Bloomberg functions

You’ll need to have:

  • Business development experience
  • A solution selling approach
  • Expert knowledge in at least 1 asset class and associated Terminal functions
  • Strong knowledge in one or more asset classes
  • Ability to indirectly influence others internally for the betterment of the franchise
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent internal network across Bloomberg including sales, product, and data
  • Ability to drive collaboration across a client's organization
  • Understanding of and the ability to articulate technologies used by app portal
  • Knowledge of client's digital strategies and their challenges in addressing the market.
  • Ability to communicate solution concepts to executives and senior technical staff
