Our team:

Bloomberg connects influential decision makers in business, finance and government to a dynamic network of news, people and ideas. In the Corporate Communications team, we manage Bloomberg’s reputation among the people and organizations who matter most to our company. We do that through engaging with external media, building third-party relationships and through employee communications.

We'll trust you to:

  • Raise the profile of the expert analysts, economists, editors, reporters and columnists working for Bloomberg Intelligence, Bloomberg News and Bloomberg New Energy Finance, as well as promoting the content and research they publish
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external media and stakeholders
  • Build pitch ideas with analysts and editorial teams quickly, based on the fast-moving news agenda
  • Develop and maintain media lists and contacts among both trade and consumer titles across the region, including broadcasters
  • Manage media inquiries from local, national and international media
  • Monitor and track coverage
  • Write and distribute concise and relevant pitches to the media to promote written content, commentary, graphics, charts and data on a wide range of topics including finance, tech, healthcare, politics, energy, utilities, industrials, retail and more
  • Assist with media management at events and host media roundtable events to promote the expertise of our analysts and reporting staff
  • Contribute and write content for Bloomberg's blog and internal communications platforms
  • Identify and secure moderation/speaking opportunities for Bloomberg experts and helping them to build relevant industry networks
  • Provide basic media and social media training to the teams
  • Engage the PR community which feeds the news cycle
  • Implement and advise on social media strategy with analysts and reporters
  • Work alongside the corporate communications team globally to develop cross-platform initiatives and ensure Bloomberg's brands are well represented across all company-wide activities

You'll need to have:

  • Previous experience in a communications/ PR/ media relations role or as a producer, booker or journalist
  • Solid relationships with external media contacts across EMEA
  • A good knowledge of EMEA media outlets, their audiences and reach
  • An enthusiasm for following the news agenda closely
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, you will be capable of managing multiple tasks in a timely manner, while responding to intermittent internal and external requests
  • A capacity to organise and prioritise work under pressure
  • An ability to work with detailed, technical and confidential information

We'd love to see:

  • Language skills relevant to the EMEA region
  • Experience of working within a busy newsroom
  • Interest and / or knowledge of the financial markets and business news agenda
