Bloomberg TV delivers business news, insights and analysis to more than 360 million homes worldwide - 24/7. We're looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Broadcast Engineering group on a consultancy basis. Depending on the program, this role would average about 10 days per month for the next 6 months to start. Working with our London-based team, you will contribute to the design and support of a leading edge Video over IP network and traditional network LAN. You will be experienced when it comes to working with routers, switches and firewalls.

We'll trust you to:

• Analyse, advise, design and contribute on latest network architectures for new Video over IP designs
• Be the point of escalation and troubleshoot 3rd line network issues in our mission critical environment
• Handle installation and troubleshooting of Data Centre, WAN and LAN environments
• Remain calm under the pressures of our live environment
• Be a team player with a flexible and customer-focus

You need to have:

• A thorough understanding of TCP/IP connection setup, teardown and trouble-shooting with sniffers
• Switching and routing protocol experience with a least 2 of the following protocols: OSPF/BGP/MPLS/VRF/VXLAN
• Experience in planning, installing, troubleshooting and managing network projects to strict time-scales with change control
• In-depth knowledge of configurations using Arista / Cisco / Juniper / Nortel
• Knowledge of zero touch provisioning / automation with tools such as ansible
• Qualification such as Arista ACE, Cisco CCNA, CCIE, CCNP, Juniper JNCIA-M or equivalent
• Strong communication skills

We'd love to see:

• Experience of multicast deployments using IGMPv3/PIM/MVR
• Timing protocols such as PTP, NTP, Black and Burst
• Experience of working in a broadcast environment
• An understanding of emerging Video over IP standards such as SMPTE2022-6,7 TR03,TR04, AES67
