We are looking for a communications specialist for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Media based in London. This is an opportunity to thrive in a dynamic and multi-faceted role, dedicated primarily to Bloomberg's editorial and media business operations in the EMEA region, with a focus on the U.K.

A London-based communications specialist with a role focused on News and Media will provide continuous support for talent, business leaders, news coverage, newsmaker interviews, live events, new products, and more on the local level and will work to raise the profile of Bloomberg U.K. on an ongoing basis.
You will work on strategy across Bloomberg News, Bloomberg TV and Radio, Bloomberg Quicktake, live events, and other platforms.

We will expect for you to have a firm understanding of business, finance, politics, and technology news - and the journalists who cover these topics.
You also need to have stellar news instinct and the ability to jump on breaking news. Experience with trade press will also help in succeeding in this role.

We’ll trust you to:

• Work on media strategy for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Media across multiple platforms, with a focus on the U.K., as well as throughout the EMEA region
• Leverage your external media contacts across consumer, including broadcast, and trade media
• Identify broadcast opportunities, speaking engagements for Bloomberg journalists and Bloomberg Media business leaders
• Promote news content exclusive to Bloomberg from a variety of platforms, conduct outreach related to breaking news
• Be tech and social media savvy, multi-task, handle volumes of information, work under deadlines and respond to breaking news
• Work autonomously within a global communications team, to identify opportunities and streamline processes

You'll need to have:

• Working experience in PR/media relations (a background in news/media would be ideal)
• The ability and interest to flex into other communications-supported business areas as required
• Excellent verbal, editing and writing skills
• Solid relationships with external media contacts
• Proven experience in stakeholder/relationship management
• The ability and flexibility to multitask, prioritise, and organise multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting required deadlines
• Experience working in a PR agency or fast-paced press office is desirable
