Bloomberg news is seeking data journalists to combine data analysis with traditional reporting to unearth previously undiscovered stories.

Your work will cover all areas of the newsroom, from breaking news to investigations and special projects. You’ll work on advanced problems, so you should have experience importing, cleaning and analyzing large data sets with code.
We'll trust you to:
- Identify stories where data analysis can drive reporting
- Creatively source data, by scraping, merging, developing sources, manual collection or other methods
- Handle tricky data, including data that is large, unstructured, error-prone, or difficult to access or interpret
- Turn your findings into headlines and sharp nut grafs
- A portfolio of data work demonstrating editorial judgment, rigor and ambition
- A minimum of 3 years of experience extracting insight from data
- Expertise in R or Python
- Experience with Github
If you think you'd be a good fit to join us, submit an application and include a short list of links describing your experience using data to uncover patterns.
