In the Desktop Build Group, we provide global desktop solutions that strategically impact revenue. What we do helps retain and increase our client base. We learn from our successes and use this to influence our terminal offering as well as increase customer workflow awareness across departments.

Being part of our team means you'll be working very closely to our Sales and Product departments. On one hand you'll work with Sales by offering desktop solutions to promote client workflow efficiency, protecting and increasing revenue. On the other hand you'll be collaborating with Product by providing regular feedback on themes and trends observed while working on customer projects in order to help identify growth opportunities or threats to our business.

Joining us as an Excel/VBA Solutions Specialist means focusing on understanding customers' needs to provide the best solution. You'll be helping clients in migrating their worksheets from competitor-linked products to Bloomberg data. You'll be building models that fill a specific product gap. You'll also be creating strategies that can leverage our Excel API to provide solutions to a specific market player. And you'll be highlighting identified gaps in the Bloomberg offering and occasionally collaborate on building excel solutions or prototypes for future development in our Terminal.

We'll trust you to:

• Develop customised solutions for our clients and prospects
• Directly impact sales through developed applications and direct customer interaction
• Assist the Bloomberg sales team in promoting our Excel Add-In and newly created templates
• Communicate with clients to understand their workflow needs and suggest solutions that utilise the Excel API in an efficient manner
• Build broad-reaching Excel-based solutions to be published in a Global Template Library
• Liaise with the Bloomberg Product Development teams to document product gaps and drive product enhancements

You need to have:

• Experience in working in a financial markets environment with a good understanding of different asset classes
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
• Experience working in client facing role
• Proficient oral and written communications skills
• Availability for occasional travel

We'd love to see:

• Cross asset knowledge (Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities)
• Prior experience using the Bloomberg Terminal or similar products
