Commodities

The Commodities group builds products that offer transparency for traders of oil, power, natural gas, metals and agricultural goods. We track everything from weather forecasts to updates and predictions of ship movements. In London we have a team focusing on European Power and Gas functions, and a team focusing on discoverability and visualization. Power and gas traders need to know what the supply/demand balance is to make their trading decisions. This includes factors like what the weather will be and which power plants are running. The team focused on discoverability and visualization helps our clients find the commodities data they need from the millions of commodity datasets we have, and shows them in a way which gives them the most insight.

We are building a groundbreaking platform, which includes complete and flexible financial contract representation with advanced pricing models and an end-to-end large scale enterprise solution.

Treasury Risk Management and Derivatives Hedge Accounting

Derivatives Hedge Accounting is found at the intersection of different domains within financial sector: risk, regulatory, treasury and valuation. Many international corporations buy financial derivatives in order to protect against uncertainty in the market. This includes Interest Rates, Foreign Exchange and Commodity assets, among others. For our clients to understand their positions, generate reports and income statements or perform accounting, they conduct many complicated procedures, some of them manual.

Bloomberg is building an offering to solve these problems all at once. Using our experience in these domains, we are changing the way corporations handle their risk and exposure to different markets. Our product combines advanced derivatives pricing with market leading hedge effectiveness testing.
Your main challenge is to maintain efficient replicable calculations in an environment of frequent changes. Our simulation software runs mathematical models, data classification routines and business rules/conventions logic to finally present the user with a clearly formatted report.

We are looking for a skilled C++ developer with leadership potential to help solve challenging problems around performance and data quality. You can be part of a growing team of passionate developers where teamwork is paramount. You will be encouraged to share your best design ideas with the team. You will help innovate the work flow of our clients by replacing their manual processes with a fully integrated solution.
