Our team:

Bloomberg AIM (Asset and Investment Manager) is our buy-side trading platform used by the biggest players in finance. Our platform is a one-stop shop that enables everything from idea generation to trade execution and post-trade operations. AIM is a market leading platform used by top fund managers to oversee assets over 17 trillions dollars on a daily basis.

One of the critical facets of AIM, is to support the Portfolio Managers (PM) in their decision making process and serve them real time insights and analytics across their portfolios. The Decision support application currently caters to over 2000 portfolio managers, allowing them to realize various complex investment strategies by running complex rebalancing algorithms. The next step towards the evolution of the platform is to make the investment process more seamless by automating the investment workflows. This is a new investment area within AIM and will require us to work through greenfield projects and ideas, and develop both the technical and business vision for the product.

Technologies and the environment:

You will be a founding member in our team. While you will benefit from the great mentorship, training, and collaboration with our sibling organizations, you will help us put in place the technical vision for the team. You will be incrementally designing a full-stack, customer facing,  event-driven system, with an emphasis on containerization and component level testing. You will be actively collaborating with experienced UX consultants, product owners, and other engineering teams spread across  New York, London, and Pune.
We always put emphasis on doing things right, so you’ll use industry best practices for testing, automation, and CI/CD, while owning the full development process – from gathering requirements to testing, rollouts, and maintenance.
Our system is entrenched in complex financial workflows -- you might not know the ins and outs of finance just yet, but that’s not a problem if you’re excited by the opportunity to learn them and build applications that enhance and improve clients’ workflows.

You'll need to have:

  • Experience developing Javascript/Typescript based front-end applications
  • Experience developing C++ or Python based back-end applications
  • A passion for mentorship and team building.
  • A passion for testing, rapid delivery, and continuous integration
  • An aptitude for system design, and a desire to build software solutions to complex business problems.
  • Experience managing projects or working with multiple stakeholders to deliver business value.

We'd love to see:

  • Prior experience with React
  • Exposure to financial instruments and workflows
  • Cooperation and experience of working well in a team

Interview process:

We believe interviewing is a two way street. It's a way for us to get to know you and your skills, and also a way for you to learn more about the team, our technical challenges, and what you'd be working on. The content of each interview round will be tailored to the role and your background, but the general framework can be found here:
We want to ensure you can put your best foot forward throughout the process, so if you have any questions or need any accommodations to be successful, please let us know!

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
