You are a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual seeking to join the Global Data futures and options team based in London.

The team:

Bloomberg runs on data. As a team we're responsible for enhancing and reporting futures and options related content for the Bloomberg Terminal.

We are actively involved with our other Global Data business teams and Engineering as we look to develop future growth of the product. We also provide direct customer service daily to our clients and internal peers. We look to include technical implementation of tools, such as VBA solutions, collaborating with our programming team.

What you can expect from this opportunity?

You will start in the Global Data Training Programme for two-weeks which will help you build the foundation for your entire career at Bloomberg. Joining the Global Data Departments means that you are a part of one of the world's leading sources of data, providing accurate, up-to-the-second insights for financial market professionals. You will develop the product knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs and build relationships throughout the company. The training will teach you financial concepts, data and the functions of our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Terminal.

As your experience grows, you will be expected to have greater influence on Bloomberg's coverage of the futures and options market, whether that is through technical or market expertise, project management or leadership.

We will trust you to:

  • Ensure the quality of and integrity of cross-asset derivatives static data in Bloomberg databases and applications is upheld
  • Maintain, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Bloomberg Professional Service
  • Assist our world-renowned client support help desk with client inquiries
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative work-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to improve our processes and software
  • Liaise with Product, Sales, News and Research & Development to build out relevant product databases
  • Handle large and complex data projects related to specific futures and options datasets.
  • Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibility.

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Prior experience or strong understanding or understanding of the derivatives market
  • Experience in using and knowledge of technology and statistical analysis or computer programming (VBA, SQL, Python, C, C++)
  • Keen interest and knowledge of information management and technology as well as product development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A real passion for solving complex problems
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced changing environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Availability to start the role by April/May 2017
