Our team:

The holdings team is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join a team of dedicated analysts who are passionate about tracking changes in ownership data of companies. Holdings analysts do not only track publicly available data sources such as exchanges, issuer websites, and news but also provide further insight to opaque ownership structures and provide clients with the most up-to-date information on ownership data. Additionally, analysts follow corporate actions and work with clients to update any information that may not be disclosed in regulatory filings. The holdings team also works with Bloomberg News to generate premium content from underlying sources.

Our team has a strong project focus and diversified skill set that allows each individual to built up on a different area of expertise in order to maximise their impact on the holdings product. You will also be responsible for acquiring, automating and maintaining the data we capture from our different sources.
The holdings analyst also develop a strong knowledge of the wide range of analytical functions available to our clients and find continuous innovative solutions to client's ongoing and evolving demands.

They apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and they implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

You will take part in the Global Data Training Programme which will help you build the foundation for your entire career at Bloomberg. Joining the Global Data department means that you are a part of one of the world's leading sources of data; providing accurate, up-to-the-second insights for financial market professionals. You will enhance your financial knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs and build relationships throughout the company. The training will teach you financial concepts, data and the functions of our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Terminal.

We'll trust you to:

  • Acquire, update, maintain and process holdings data using various internal systems and proprietary company software
  • Come up with innovative ways to enhance our systems and to make our data-related processes more efficient, accurate and timely
  • Participate in time-sensitive projects, and collaborate with your global colleagues to deliver new initiatives
  • Develop expertise in fast-moving market sector information
  • Liaise with technology teams to enhance relevant product databases
  • Provide a platinum level of service to Bloomberg customers

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Excellent numerical and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced changing environment
  • Prior experience or strong knowledge and understanding of finance
  • Keen interest in information management and technology and product development
  • Effective project management skills and ability to prioritise tasks accordingly
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge in information technology and statistical analysis or computer programming (for example VBA, SQL, Python)
