What we are looking for:

Bloomberg Indices is seeking a highly motivated and driven Index Analyst responsible for the management of Fixed Income related indices. The Bloomberg Index business is in its early stages and is an exciting time to join the team to take this brand new product to the next level. The analyst would be expected to work with various internal groups as programming, business, and sales, to set direction for and support Fixed Income indices on the system. Bloomberg's new state-of-the-art index infrastructure will scale to thousands of indices, incorporate complex index methodologies, and aspires to operate in an automated fashion leveraging cutting edge technologies. This role will begin to develop into more relationship management, providing opportunities to interact with clients.

We'll trust you to:

• Establishing and implementing index management procedures and methodologies to reflect the needs of the fixed income market
• Interacting with clients regularly to develop new Bloomberg or custom indexes
• Interacting with clients and internal stakeholders in response to index data related queries
• Maintaining fixed income indexes in accordance with Bloomberg's methodologies to ensure the correct application of index rules, quality control and data remediation to ensure the integrity of the index
• Index rebalance evaluation including analysis of membership inclusions and omissions
• Work closely with R&D to develop work flows, quality insurance processes and product enhancements
• Responsible for providing customers with accurate and timely answers to their data related questions
• Involved with the entire sales process, while looking for additional opportunities to engage clients
• Opportunity to work across index asset classes including commodity and equity indices

You need to have:

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics and / or Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Master’s Degree and / or MBA
• Professional working experience with VBA and SQL
• Professional working experience with Fixed Income Data, specifically working with Financial Indicies
• Experience in data workflow applications
• Commitment to enhancing and developing products / processes
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills
• Proven track record of being self driven and “get-it-done” attitude
• Ability to work collaboratively with people across groups
• Experience building and maintaining indexes is preferred
• Demonstrate ownership and responsibility
• Self-Starter, who has the ability to work across groups and independently when required
• Foundational knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal
