Our team

The EMEA Bloomberg indirect tax team is part of Global Bloomberg accounting operations. The team are responsible for ensuring Bloomberg files accurate and timely VAT returns and other statistical returns for countries in the EMEA region.
The team prepare and submit returns in-house as well as working with advisors and local book keepers who prepare and submit returns on behalf of Bloomberg. The team are also responsible for reconciling the VAT/GST accounts for the EMEA region.

What’s in it for you:

You will assume full responsibility for the EMEA indirect tax compliance team. You will report directly in the EMEA regional accounting controller. You will also work closely with the Global Process Owner (GPO) for indirect taxes on initiatives to drive further control and efficiency into the organisation.

We will trust you to:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring all VAT/GST and statistical reporting requirements are met in accordance with local country requirements
  • Take the lead in developing strong relationships with relevant Government tax authorities from which the business operates
  • Work with the GPO for indirect taxes initiating change by identifying and implementing process improvements to drive greater control into the record and report of EMEA indirect taxes
  • Work with the GPO for indirect taxes in initiating change by identifying and implementing improvement and development of technology to deliver world class efficient and accurate reporting
  • Mentor and manage the EMEA indirect tax team including creating a more operational skillset with the team
  • Act as the key point of contact and create a centre of excellence for indirect tax considerations that arise with accounts payable and customer billing queries
  • Manage external advisors and local book keepers as required including negotiating compliance spend
  • Work closely with our accounting business partner on a wide range of indirect tax initiatives from supporting tax authority audits to registering new legal entities

You need to have:

  • Enjoys working in a fast moving and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to prioritise high volume of activities, to meet deadlines and delegate effectively
  • European VAT background essential within a large multinational business
  • Knowledge and use of current VAT reporting tools would be desirable
  • Qualified accountant, tax advisor or equivalent would be desirable
  • Knowledge of partial exemption would be desirable

Personal Characteristics:

  • Candidates must be hands-on in approach and willing to roll up his/her sleeves
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral
  • Results orientation
