The Japanese Language Bloomberg News (JBN) team delivers global coverage to Japanese readers on politics, economics and investing. As an Editor, you understand what traders and fund managers are interested in, and you are able to convey the whole picture. You do research and track down the details, and you break news that matters.

We are looking for a motivated journalist with excellent editing, curation and language skills to tell stories that matter to our Japanese audience. Based in London, you will be responsible for selecting and turning English language stories into Japanese, using machine translation as needed as well as manual editing to ensure we package it in the best way for our Japanese language readers. You will exercise strong news judgment and be expected to approach readers across multiple formats, including the Terminal, mobile and digital.

We'll trust you to:

• Curate English language news stories into Japanese, adding accurate context as needed
• Deliver breaking-news content with speed and accuracy
• Apply news judgement that's balanced
• Produce front-page quality news stories in Japanese
• Curate stories across formats, from the Terminal to mobile to digital

You'll need to have:

• At least 5 years of experience translating English language news into Japanese and editing in a real-time news environment
• An understanding of financial markets and top global news
• Strong editing skills to deliver breaking-news content quickly and accurately
• A strong work ethic; be a team player and ability to work in high-pressure environment.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese & English
• Previous reporting experience will be an advantage
