The Business:

Identity, Cyber Security, Robotics and Evidence of Process, are the cornerstones of the future for the financial services industry. Put simply, failure to manage these four will result in a firm failing its clients, its counterparties, its regulators and its employees and they will go out of business.
Bloomberg's KYC business addresses the enormous industry challenges of collecting, validating, certifying, maintaining, auditing and managing millions of client entity reference data attributes and monitoring these in real time. The current process for managing data collection is email and this request and receive static data model almost entirely managed by hand is failing both banks and their clients. It is vastly expensive, always reactive and constantly behind schedule, causing missed trading opportunities, poor client experience, regulatory fines, criminal prosecution and an increasingly unmanageable mess of static data.
Bloomberg's KYC business applies robotics and artificial intelligence to automate the data/document collection, verification and screening process. The platform is available over the secure web, via Google Chrome and IE.

Launched in 2016, KYC is a new business vertical within the Enterprise Solutions division. The Entity Exchange, is changing the way that trading counterparties exchange and verify documents and data from both public and private sources required for KYC, Tax, Credit, Regulation and any other requirements. It replaces heavily manual processes and eliminates the reliance on email as the main data conduit. Since launch we have signed up over 700 clients including tier 1 global banks, asset managers and hedge funds, across Europe, Asia and the Americas. We are live in over 20 countries already, our growth and our targets are accelerating.

*Entity Exchange is the evolution from mail-fax-email, to the cyber secure web. Turning documents in to data, Bloomberg uniquely offers the industry the raw data required to power business and compliance decisions. It happens faster, safer, more efficiently, with an immediate audit trail and a vastly improved client experience.

*Our Entity Screening service is a workflow tool with a built in screening capability. Bloomberg sources multiple third party data sets to check for PEPs, sanctions, negative news and adverse media, court records, financial crime and beneficial ownership.
