About the role:

 
The lead live event technician will be responsible for the operation and successful delivery of events in our innovative event spaces. This is a hands on role where you will be operating equipment every day, being the point person for technical questions, troubleshooting and fault finding both traditional and IP systems.
 
Our events run the gamut from your traditional corporate town halls through to world leader summits, D&I initiatives and awards shows; including live performances and interactive immersive experiences.
 
You will have a real passion for how AV technology can enhance live event production, working in a hands-on approach covering all aspects of Live Events delivery.
 
We’ll trust you to:
 

  • Taking a lead role in the ownership of all aspects of Live AV Event operation, with experience in delivering high profile and VIP events.
  • Deliver world-class events both in a virtual and hybrid environment for a multitude of stakeholders
  • Daily operation of vision mixers, audio mixers, remote cameras (including camera racking and framing), lighting, floor management and graphics systems.
  • Coordinate and delegating roles to our vendors and freelancers.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external events teams and suppliers to ensure first-class event delivery, understanding requirements and offering solutions to enhance event experiences.
  • Ensure the highest AV standards and guidelines are met.
  • Lea routine maintenance and repair of event space equipment. Collaborate on and deliver upgrade projects as required.
  • Methodically troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems across all areas of live event technology, working with vendors and suppliers to quickly resolve and mitigate any issues
  • Ensure proper communication is maintained with partners, vendors and the wider AV team.
  • Actively review and development of all technical documentation and schematics.

    You’ll need to have:
     
  • A strong desire to work as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment, a with an “all hands-on deck” approach is key.
  • 3+ years of live event / broadcast technical operations experience across Sound, Video, Lighting, Graphics etc.
  • Excellent customer focused approach, working with a wide range of end users and collaborators
  • The ability to move quickly and accurately in a fast-paced live events environment.
  • Experience of all areas of AV technology including LED walls, Projection, Dante, NDI and other associated protocols, Broadcast experience
  • Ability to set up, test, calibrate and commission equipment and devices as the need arises for a fully functional AV system
  • Understanding of networking technology, transmission over network and audio/video signal flow
  • Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding technical/troubleshooting skills and to learn new systems quickly
  • Be self motivated and driven to develop and enhance event experiences and technical workflows.
  • Have a calm, focused demeanour in high pressure situations with an ability to prioritise several tasks at once.
  • A curiosity about new AV and Events Technology, helping to keep us at the forefront of emerging technologies
