Our Network Security, Engineering and Feeds team helps support one of the largest private communications networks in the world. Our clients depend on us to maintain connectivity for market data, electronic trading and critical news information. The Bloomberg network spans over 100 Node sites, connects clients globally to over 1500 exchanges, market data and order entry venues. We touch all operational aspects of installing, maintaining and configuring this network. In our team you’ll use your skills to also support our DMZ infrastructure, Linux servers and firewall equipment using proprietary systems and command line. On a daily basis we’ll tap into your troubleshooting and project management experience. You’ll regularly collaborate with team mates and developers, investigating and resolving time sensitive problems. We’d love to see you have experience working in a dynamic network environment where you supported network and security infrastructure that maintained business critical systems.

We'll trust you to:

• Resolve connectivity issues to our most critical customers, financial markets & Exchanges
• Handle around 10-15 tickets on a daily basis
• Play a key role in one of Bloomberg’s escalated technical teams
• Work on different types of network devices via command line and priority systems such as Routers, Switches, Linux Servers & Firewalls
• Draft network diagrams, perform network planning & implement changes
• Be fast and flexible in a changing environment and be able to move between project related work and critical support issues with ease

You need to have:

• Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, Linux, Checkpoint CCSA or equivalent engineering experience
• Experience in analysing packet captures and other decode tools
• Excellent trouble shooting, communication, and project management skills
• Familiarity with various Checkpoint hardware deployments in a multi domain environment
• Flexibility and willingness to work off hours when the situation dictates

We’d love to see:

• Software programming, scripting and reporting
• Understanding of multicast deployments using IGMP/PIM/MVR
• Experience with Bluecoat Proxy SG and/or Content analysis systems
• Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls including policy deployment using Panorama
• Troubleshooting of SSL and IPSEC VPN connectivity over the Internet
• Understanding of financial markets and underlying technologies in data distribution, feed handlers, and FIX message routing
