Our Team:

The Global System Administration team is absolutely crucial to the smooth operation of the internal IT systems at Bloomberg. We’re trusted to ensure that our IT infrastructure is running efficiently at all times in order to support the tens of thousands of devices operating on our network along with the thousands of employees who rely on our technology to carry out their roles effectively in a fast paced technology focused company. We sit within the Information Systems group and collaborate daily with many other teams; these include our Service Desk, Technician, Audio Visual, Security, Mobile Technology and Infrastructure design teams. You will provide reactive support for networking issues such as troubleshooting failed equipment including supervisor cards and line cards. You will also support configuration issues including multicast, DHCP and ACL's.
Alongside this, the role includes proactive project work to ensure the Bloomberg's internal network is reliable and efficient for our colleagues to work effectively.

We’ll trust you to:

• Be a part of a team providing support for our internal Global Network Infrastructure
• Provide 3rd line technical support to our Global Service Desk and Technician teams
• Assist our Global Infrastructure Design team with the implementation of new technology
• Be flexible and willing to step up and offer support to any other member of the team who may be seeking assistance on a wide range of other corporate technologies

You'll need to have:

• Excellent understanding of networking principles and technologies in an enterprise level multi-site environment.
• Strong IP troubleshooting skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of layer 1 through to layer 3 technologies.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches
• Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems
• Ability to manage client expectation
• Ability to prioritise your own time
• A real passion for technology
• A sense of good customer service
• A strong team player

We'd love to see:

• Familiarisation with CUCM and SIP technologies
• Working knowledge of Linux
• Experience with non-cisco vendor network infrastructure
