Bloomberg UK is looking for an ambitious aspiring journalist to work across the range of its content, with a particular focus on producing the daily (Mon-Friday) Readout newsletter. You will be someone with a lively interest and knowledge of UK politics and policy. This would combined with the ability to identify stories and trends and to work alongside Allegra Stratton and others on framing the key stories of the day in the UK. You would be used to collaborating across teams and able to help The Readout and Bloomberg UK showcase and make the best use of Bloomberg's large London newsroom. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and readability of the final text and need the ability to amend and edit copy with flair. The role will also involve some reporting and writing outside the newsletter and you are likely to be required to work on other newsletters or products for Bloomberg UK, across our various platforms, which include live TV and radio stations, as well as video production.

Bloomberg UK was launched in May this year as a new multi-platform news subscription brand, building on the specialist insight provided by one of Europe's largest newsrooms and on Bloomberg's long tradition of data driven journalism.

You will need:

  • Good knowledge of UK politics and policy and a good general knowledge and interest in global affairs;
  • A background or knowledge of economic or business news would be a plus.
  • Experience of producing content to a high standard
  • An ability to work fast and to deadline
  • An eye for a news line and for detail
  • A tendency to take the initiative and to seize opportunity
  • An appealing way with words and an ability to spot the gaps in coverage
