Bloomberg runs on data. As a team we're responsible for providing credible, transparent and high quality pricing that is based on Instant Messaging and Email traffic received by clients. The data received is digitized and acts as a pricing source for transparency on Fixed Income OTC instruments for use in analytical functions.
Whether you are sourcing market data via our Message Mining product, processing complex financial data or implementing technology solutions to enhance our processes and software, your work will expand your ability to manage data, your research skills and bolster your financial knowledge.
You will take part in the Global Data Training Programme for two-weeks which will help you build the foundation for your entire career at Bloomberg. Joining the Global Data department means that you are a part of one of the world's leading sources of data; providing accurate, up-to-the-second insights for financial market professionals. You will enhance your product knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs and build relationships throughout the company. The training will teach you financial concepts, data and the functions of our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Terminal.
As your experience grows, you will be expected to further develop your technological expertise and contribute towards improvement of in-house tools used by the Message Mining data team in their daily workflow. You will be encouraged to generate new ideas about database structure and development of Bloomberg internal and external functionality.
Maintain, improve and deliver accurate, high quality information for the Bloomberg Terminal.
Ensure that price information across Bonds, CDS, Loans and Mortgage products are properly picked up from individual messages and returned back to the client.
Understand how market players discuss prices via email for the supported products.
Assist our world-renowned client support help desk with escalated client inquiries.
Apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative work-flow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our processes and software.
Liaise with other departments, such as Product, Sales, Business and Research & Development to enhance relevant functionality.
Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibility.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
Experience with process engineering tasks, and implementing product or system work-flow improvements.
Experience managing stakeholders and effective project management skills.
Proficiency in at least one programming language to facilitate creation of new process tools e.g. VBA, Python, SQL, etc.
Ability to prioritise tasks accordingly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Keen interest in information management and technology and product development.
Ability to adapt in a fast paced changing environment.
Experience with or strong interest in customer service or client relationship management.
Prior experience or strong knowledge and understanding of the Fixed Income markets.
Business level fluency in a second European language.
