Pricing and Inventory Analyst - Media Ad Sales

We're seeking a Pricing & Inventory Analyst to join our Bloomberg Advertising Operations Team, which provides the highest quality cross platform media campaigns and services to customers across the globe. You have a strong background in digital, but will work across all of our media assets including TV, Digital, Mobile and Print. You'll be responsible for maximizing the yield of our inventory to ensure we are properly and effectively monetizing our advertising assets. You're both data driven and strategic in your approach to manage multiple media platforms, solving problems, and supporting overarching team initiatives. You're a data wizard who can fluently travel between the worlds of spreadsheets, operations, sales and marketing - and seamlessly process challenges and string solutions across these points.

We'll trust you to:

  • Analyze advertising inventory, presenting finely tuned and clear analysis of the past and accurately forecasted future inventory
  • Be deeply immersed in the inventory, pricing and revenue data; fluent at translating the data to many different groups; and quick to understand the implications in the data and to take action to resolve
  • Collaborate with the media planning team to build cross platform campaigns, recommending and approving rates
  • Identify inventory trends and develop quantitative analysis, ad hoc reports and models to support decision making that drive growth and optimized pricing
  • Report on key inventory trends that may affect the pricing of our assets and suggest solutions for how to best optimize our media
  • Adjust pricing in reaction to sell-through levels to ensure we are meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • Work with management to provide weekly guidance around sell through, inventory pressure and pricing to planning and campaign management
  • Manage the product catalog for digital and linear systems
  • Analyze and report on the delivery of all inventory including, new products, high STR inventory, custom digital products and sponsorships
  • Liaise with Finance on inventory and pricing related questions
  • Contribute to annual business planning process through data compilation and analysis

You need to have:

  • Relevant and proven experience in advertising, media or finance
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A strong mathematical and analytical background
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Excel
  • An ability to extract and manipulate a variety of data for senior management, sales, planning and campaign management, finance, and trafficking
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail and comfort with large amounts of data
  • Excellent organizational and project-management skills
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written, interpersonal required
  • An ability to multi task and work with multiple teams
  • An ability to meet deadlines and provide superior customer service to external and internal clients
