The work we do helps engineers deliver software that underpins the entire financial industry. Bloomberg leverages more tools and open source technologies every year, and our team is expanding to ensure engineers here are well-equipped to take advantage of those tools. We are focused on improving the developer workflow to help our engineers deliver their best work. Our Developer Workflow SRE team is dedicated to improving our firm-wide use of third party systems such as Github for Enterprise, JIRA, and Confluence. We’re driven by making our engineers as productive as possible and ensuring all systems have high availability and scalability. As SREs, we're passionate about improving availability, scalability, and reliability not just across our 5,000+ engineers, but for the continued growth of our teams and products. Our mission is Engineering with a modern, scalable platform for CI/CD infrastructure. These tools are crucial to the productivity and delivery of our software; any downtime potentially means that thousands of engineers cannot do their job.

You'll need to have:

• Experience writing HTTP/services (Go, Java, Ruby, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and scaling of large software systems
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, JIRA, Confluence, or similar
• Knowledge of configuration management and SDLC processes (Chef, Ansible, Salt, Puppet)

We'd love to see:

• The belief that manual operations are evil and a hunger to automate everything
• A forward thinking attitude towards providing "software as a service" tooling for a large Engineering organization
• Experience with the management and operations around web-scale services
