The Role

Bloomberg's User Experience group is expanding and looking for an experienced, innovative Visual UI Designer for Mobile! We are looking for a multi-disciplinary team player with mobile UX expertise. Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will be designing mobile applications across iOS/iPad OS/Android platforms.

You will have a proven track record in building a definitive visual system at scale. The individual in this role will be responsible for designing feature enhancements for mobile enterprise applications, and assist with expanding the existing design system. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, understand constraints quickly, and be able to create intuitive, optimized, and brand-consistent mobile/web experiences. We are looking for an experienced, hybrid UI Designer with expertise in CSS3/HTML5/JavaScript development. You will participate in strategic visual design and will bring design concepts to life with pixel precision in CSS. In addition to visual design principles, the candidate should be familiar with HCI, UCD methodologies, design cycles, and usability best practices.

You’ll need to have:

• A link to your online portfolio in your resume. Your application will not be considered without a portfolio.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and prototyping native apps for phones and tablets with expertise in platform standards for iOS and Android. 
• B.S./M.S./B.F.A. in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, or related field.
• Demonstrated intuitive and engaging UI design with simple clean style and a pixel-level attention to detail via a portfolio.
• Demonstrated fluency with Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative suite.
• Experience with HTML 5, CSS3, Xcode, and JavaScript

Portfolio:

Our goal is to see if your problem-solving and visual design skills are a good fit for Bloomberg. We would like to see artifacts such as: sketches, styleguides for UI layouts, framework design, storyboards etc. We are most interested in seeing in-depth UI/UX design for mobile native applications.
