You will have a passion for both of these areas, and in doing so provide support to developers in each of them.

The Ticker Plant is part of the Bloomberg core infra-structure, so the position requires a high level of responsibility and technical aptitude. The Ticker Plant product itself is a propriety intra-day tick database. It processes and stores market data, with exchange feed and data-source specific business rules, for the entire company; this encompasses the main Bloomberg terminal and also enterprise products such as Bpipe(RDP) and Data Licence. This data is made available via both static server requests and real-time publish/subscribe streams. The software itself is highly scalable and distributed amongst hundreds of large servers, having one of the largest hardware budgets in Bloomberg for a single product.

The London team is specifically responsible for the critical path that a tick takes through Ticker Plant and its associated infra-structure, along with the little-endian Linux port and a dedicated special ops sub-team (using Agile) for delivering high-priority projects.

• The technical ability to contribute directly to projects through hands on development as well as led a team of software engineers

• Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle

• Excellent stakeholder relationship management. Our stakeholders are Feed Engineers, Feed Analysts, Exchange Business and Enterprise Business.
• The ability to effectively listen, communicate, challenge and influence team members, peers and senior managers
• The desire to take ownership and responsibility of issues and handle effectively through to resolution
