You’re the first of your friends to know about a major economic event. You have an appetite not only to see the world but to learn what makes it tick. You are fascinated by both finance and data and have a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

If the above description sounds like you, come and join us for our Spring Insight Week and immerse yourself in all things Bloomberg. This is an amazing opportunity to learn all about our company, our unique culture and the different departments and opportunities.

The focus will be on our Global Data and Analytics & Sales departments, but you will be exposed to a wide array of topics, people and activities. You will cover everything - from financial instruments to Terminal functionality, leadership, networking skills and more!

You will learn from some of the best instructors in the industry about how to apply this knowledge in a practical, fast-paced business environment. As you find out about our future graduate opportunities, you'll learn we host a Summer Internship every year and you will qualify for an interview if you successfully complete the Insight Week.

The Departments

What is Analytics and Sales?

Analytics:

Working in Analytics is about more than providing the best user experience for Bloomberg Terminal clients. We solve complex problems with accurate, real-time responses. We proactively call clients to run training sessions and explain new functionality and we consistently surpass their expectations to develop better Bloomberg users.

Sales:

Our Sales team strive to maximise growth, usage and dependency on our offerings by building strong client relationships, understanding their needs, and demonstrating proven competency in the financial markets. It's crucial we stay one step ahead, pre-empting our clients' needs and presenting them with ground breaking solutions, before they even know they need them.

What is Global Data?

Bloomberg runs on data. Global Data makes Bloomberg the most sought-after data source in the world. We collect, process and present data that informs clients' decisions - and moves markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes.
Teams in Global Data include Commodities; Corporate Finance; Derivatives; Equity Fundamentals; Economic Statistics; Fixed Income; FX; Funds, Syndicated Loans, Earnings Estimates, Indices and Technical Operations.

If you are interested in Global Data, you’ll need to:

  • Be a current university student and graduate in either 2019 or 2020
  • Be fluent in another European language (or Japanese), in addition to English
  • Be familiar with information technology/statistical analysis/computer programming (for example VBA, SQL, MATLAB, Python)
  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in finance
  • Have a strong interest in the world of data and technology
  • Ideally possess strong Excel Skills
  • Be available to attend for the duration of the programme, 9th April 2018-13th April 2018

If you are interested in Analytics and Sales you’ll need to:

  • Be a current university student and graduate in 2020
  • Be fluent in another European language (or Japanese or Korean), in addition to English
  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in finance
  • Be available to attend for the duration of the programme, 9th April 2018-13th April 2018

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
