Bloomberg runs on data, and in Data we're responsible for acquiring it and providing it to our clients. We collect, analyse, process and publish the data which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal- the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify creative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products and processes- and all this while providing platinum customer support to our clients.

The Role:

Data is looking for a Team Leader to lead the Structured Notes team in London. As the TL, you are required to be a hands-on leader that can effectively manage, empower, and develop a hard-working team. You will need to have a passion to drive client engagement initiatives in Data. You will work in a high energy team that is responsible for managing partners and delivering key strategic business opportunities in partnership with other teams across Sales, Product and Engineering. As TL, you will be responsible for managing our Structured Notes product within Data and will need to demonstrate excellent communication and project management skills. This position requires extensive teamwork globally within Data and across the wider Fixed Income community at Bloomberg.

We’ll trust you to:

 

  • Hire, mentor, develop and retain your team members to build a hard-working team
  • Work with individual team members to build opportunities for them to advance in their careers within Bloomberg
  • Manage client and sales critical issues
  • Collaborate extensively with all Data teams and internal partners (primarily Financial Products, Enterprise and Engineering)
  • Work closely with regional counterparts and across the Team Leader group in EMEA Data
  • Develop and implement project plans to meet business plan goals
  • Build relationships with clients to understand how they use and consume our data
  • Develop a work force plan and hiring strategy to best serve the needs of global data and the team
  • Leverage technology and innovative solutions to improve processes
  • Build strategy and complete plans to drive product forward

You’ll need to have:

  • Proven leadership skills within your previous or current role
  • Superb communication and team building skills
  • Strong understanding of the wide-ranging impact of financial data
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent client facing skills and passion to represent the product both internally and externally
  • Comprehensive experience of building relationships
  • Understanding of merging technology and data processing methodologies, especially with respect to the application of big data
  • Curiosity about crafting workflow tools and processes
  • Creative and flexible approach to managing and problem solving

We’d love to see:

  • Passion for Financial markets
  • Knowledge in information technology or statistical analysis or computer programming (for example VBA, SQL, MATLAB, Python)
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as QlikSense
