What you can expect from this opportunity?

You will take part in our Global Data Training Programme for two-weeks which will help you build the foundation for your entire career at Bloomberg. Joining the Global Data department means that you are a part of one of the world's leading sources of data; providing accurate, up-to-the-second insights for financial market professionals. You will enhance your product knowledge, learn about our clients and their needs and build relationships throughout the company. The training will teach you financial concepts, data and the functions of our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Terminal.

Our team:

Our Structured Product Feed allows banks to create and update all their securitised derivatives instantly. We are leaders amongst the global fixed income communities and our team provides timely, comprehensive coverage for the creation of structured notes. We ensure near-time availability of new instruments and the most up to date information on existing debt instruments on the Bloomberg Terminal building and developing relationships with issuers and underwriters, as well as regional and local exchanges.

We will trust you to:

  • Liaise with securitised derivatives data contributors such as banks and exchanges, with the goal of developing and expanding the scope of our offering in Bloomberg
  • Develop efficient systems and methods to optimally extract, transform, and load data from external sources to support Bloomberg’s businesses and clients
  • Apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow improvements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement solutions and frameworks to enhance our processes, software, and data offerings through product and market knowledge, understanding of or direct application of JIRA/Python/SQL, and through Server and Database management
  • Enhance our quality assurance processes and ensure the data is delivered to customers accurately and timely
  • Track and anticipate client demands in the regulatory space through building meaningful relationships with clients
  • Generate ideas to help drive the product forward by keeping abreast with the latest developments in the Securitized market space
  • Collaborate with Bloomberg Research, News, Sales and Engineering teams to contribute to the future development and strategic direction of the Structured Products data-set.

You’ll need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Up to 2 years of work/internship experience in finance, information technology, business management, data analysis or research
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • An understanding of the technology behind data feeds and experience of implementing ideas for change
  • Knowledge in information technology, statistical analysis or computer programming (e.g. VBA, SQL, Python)
  • A proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • An established understanding of the structured products market and competitive landscape and familiarity with issuance and market data processes

We’d love to see:

  • Direct experience working with structured products, ideally within a bank or exchange
