As the Sustainable Business Programs Associate you will drive and reinvigorate the team’s internal and external communications platforms. Working with other BCAUSE groups (Philanthropy & Engagement, Wellness, Diversity & Inclusion), you will collaborate and deliver unique engagement opportunities – for offices and individual employees - in collaboration with non-profit partners. You will also be the project manager for the annual Bloomberg Impact report and help with our rapidly growing sustainability-themed media businesses.

Our Team:

The Sustainable Business and Finance Team aggressively integrates sustainability considerations into all operations and co-develops products and services for the Bloomberg Professional Service, enabling our clients to evaluate sustainability market risks and opportunities. Our overarching objective is to prove the business case for sustainability internally and in the market through innovation, thought leadership, financial savings and revenue opportunities with a diverse set of stakeholders.

We'll trust you to:

  • Re-envision and Re-invigorate Bloomberg’s Sustainability’s employee engagement platforms utilizing all the tools in the Bloomberg communications toolkit – Arcade, ONBB, Blogs, events, service programs, etc
  • Lead, manage, and develop an office based network of Sustainability-minded employees, based on the Diversity and Engagement communities we have in place at Bloomberg. Previously known as “BGREEN Squads” the program has become stale and needs a re-think based on other models that have been successful at Bloomberg
  • Project manage the development and release of our annual Bloomberg Impact report, with an assortment of internal partners and an outside design agency
  • Manage a portfolio of skills-based service projects as part of the Impact Accelerator program which seeks to tap into Bloomberg employee skill sets to help non-profit partners
  • Support the Head of Sustainable Business Programs and colleagues across Bloomberg Media, BNA and other client facing functions with sales prospecting, meetings and follow up (as necessary) with potential purchasers of media or events for sustainability-related products
  • Be creative; try new things, and try again when things fail

  • Form relationships throughout the company

  • Build a budget and stick to it
  • Have general awareness of Sustainability issues across the business landscape
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Find synergies with your counterparts across the globe and work together on strategy and execution.
  • Help us figure out what's not working and, most importantly, fix it
  • Understand the organization's commercial strategy and priorities
  • Come up with hypotheses and use data to generate insights

You need to have:

  • Solid experience working on sustainable business strategy and finance.
  • Strong track record of performance in a fast paced and innovative environment
  • An understanding of financial markets and our businesses
