We are seeking an experienced and innovative editor to oversee coverage of the U.K. across all beats, from business and finance to economics, politics, technology and markets. In this new managing editor-level position, the national editor will drive journalists across the London newsroom to deliver scoops, enterprise and other front-page stories, sharpening our competitive edge in our biggest European market. They will also be responsible for growing our influence across all platforms, and developing products to reach new audiences.

The ideal candidate will have:

*An in-depth knowledge of the U.K. story and its media landscape
*A proven track record of coaching reporters to break news and deliver enterprise to a tight deadline
*Excellent news judgement and an ability to collaborate across teams and platforms
*An aptitude for creative story presentation and an understanding of audience development and engagement
*Significant experience reporting and editing
