Bloomberg News is looking for a dynamic journalist to lead its bureau in Miami. We are looking for someone to report and edit on all facets of this iconic American city, whether that is crypto newcomers jockeying for position with established Wall Street firms heading south, or the changing political, demographic and economic landscape. The job requires someone with a strong sense about the way politics and business intersect in this electorally critical state, and how to cover this topic for our readers. The bureau chief also will be called upon to understand and develop stories on the city's role as the gateway to Latin America. This requires a leader adept at collaborating with teams that sit at the intersection of finance, trade, immigration and markets, as well as an understanding of the complex workings of U.S. cities and states. 
 
We will trust you to:

•  Lead and inspire reporters and editors with the goal of making Bloomberg's coverage influential and highly visible in Miami and throughout Florida
•  Regularly break news and produce high-quality enterprise pieces
•  Work collaboratively inside the bureau and out, acting as an ambassador for the newsroom in Miami while managing the internal personnel needs of the bureau
•  Develop close relationships with the senior editors whose teams report on Miami and the trends there to spur coordination
•  Maintaining daily and regular communication with senior managers about stories in the region, as well as ideas of how to turn them into content, print and otherwise
 
You will need:

•  Exceptional news judgment
•  The capacity to work effectively across multiple teams in a collaborative manner
•  Knowledge of financial, crypto and real estate markets, along with politics, government and other economic drivers particular to Miami and the surrounding region
•  The ability to attract executives, government officials and other newsmakers for interviews inside and outside the bureau and build on Bloomberg's reputation as a world-class news organization and employer
•  Spanish language skills a huge plus
