What's the role?

Bloomberg is seeking a seasoned Economist to join a global team of analysts to cover economic data releases and events as well as macroeconomic trends. You will take the lead on analysis of India, providing quick and insightful analysis on key economic events to a sophisticated financial audience. We are looking to leverage your experience working for a financial firm or policy institution to provide crisp analysis of data.

You should be able to generate quick analysis about economic, business, and financial markets, as well as draw innovative interpretations from data or trends. Our goal is to deliver pithy, insightful content for Bloomberg's client base to be distributed over the terminal.

As the Bloomberg economist, you should:

• Have the ability to rapidly interpret and communicate the impact of economic events and data on global financial markets.
• Demonstrate a knack for verbal, visual, and written communication enabling them to bring clarity to Bloomberg's broad audience.
• An ability to work as part of a team is crucial as the you will work with other economists and economic editors to produce content.
• Be comfortable speaking on TV and in front of large audiences.

You need to have:

• A strong professional background in macroeconomics.
• A graduate degree or equivalent in economics, international economics, PhD or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Exhibit a high level ability to use Excel, or any other statistical package, to crunch data and display data, including the ability to create sophisticated charts and graphs from the data.
• For this role a strong understanding of India's economy and financial markets are required.
• The ability to produce polished analysis and conduct compelling presentations in English for an international audience is also essential
