Our Team:

  • Defines the strategy and future vision for customer service at Bloomberg. Covering both the types of service we want to provide and the operating model required to provide it
  • The Analytics Product Team is responsible for delivering the tools, data, analytics, processes and strategic mentorship required to lead the department to success
  • Team relies heavily on data analytics and real-world experimentation to guide the strategic direction of the department
  • Responsible for defining and prioritizing own backlog of work
  • Works with Team Leaders and Managers to vet, refine and prioritize new project ideas
  • Supports Global Head of Analytics (Customer Service) as a thought partner and advisor

Your Clients/ Colleagues Will Depend On You To:

  • Design analytics and reporting to give daily insight into the performance of the department
  • Support Global Head of Customer Service in defining and clarifying the goals of the department
  • Leverage data, strong logical arguments and clear communication to drive decisions
  • Manage Engineering resource (20+) by crafting and prioritizing work most impactful for the department
  • Continually improve processes and tools to increase automation, efficiency and levels of customer service. Conceive of new ideas and projects to improve the performance of the department
  • Take the lead on projects that cross departments and regions. Work with leaders of other business to identify valuable opportunities to share technology and tools. Become familiar with related departments to drive company-wide initiatives
  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership using data
  • Act as first line of technical troubleshooting to protect engineering from distracting inquiries

What You'll Need to Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics
  • Coursework and practical experience in data analysis

  • Manage informal relationships to get things done in the absence of direct reporting lines
  • Experience in building complex and insightful analytics to drive business improvements. Working with large datasets
  • Leading technical projects
  • Writing clear communication tailored to audiences ranging from senior managers and the broader department
  • Experience working with senior leaders
  • Familiarity with financial institutions and market players

We'd Love To See You:

  • MBA preferred
  • A sense of urgency to move quickly and ability to define for yourself what work is most valuable
  • Prioritize (the number of valuable projects there are to do are practically infinite and the resources to execute them are constrained)
  • Love data analytics
  • Feel ownership over the department and comfort tackling responsibilities that ‘really aren’t my job’
  • Speak up and feel comfortable dissenting opinions while backing them up with facts and logic
  • Have a knack for understanding technical systems (no specific technical knowledge required)
