What’s the role?

You will join our Litigation team to identify, analyse and track bankruptcy litigation developments. As a litigation analyst, you will author original research and communicate with our core customer base and work with the BI analysts on broader-themed research.

We’ll trust you to:

• Identify, prioritize, research, and track key bankruptcy cases, including their ability to impact related parties, market participants and the broader business landscape
• Help build, author and maintain litigation watch lists.
• Facilitate research and analysis between all relevant Bloomberg analysts.
• Engage in primary research, including following trials, judges and attorneys, as well as companies impacted and other related participants.
• Write research on a regular basis and communicate it to relevant Bloomberg terminal clients via phone calls, in-person meetings, and online chat.
• Create and manage partnerships with key external market professionals, including clients and prospects, to identify additional commercial opportunities.
• Identify, support and maintain critical Bankruptcy data and functionality on the Bloomberg terminal.

We are looking for candidates to join our New York-based research team.

You’ll need to have:

• Juris Doctor degree.
• 5+ years progressively responsible law firm experience or combined law firm/in-house experience, specializing in the Bankruptcy sector.
• Knowledge of the impact of litigation on industry, companies and financial markets.
• Exceptional primary research and writing skills.
• Experience interpreting financial statements & performing quantitative financial analysis.
• Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, & procedures of finance & accounting.
• Marketing or business development experience.
• Self-starter, independent thinker and collaborative team player.
• Must be willing to travel to court as needed.
• Knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal a plus.
