You would be part of this expanding team responsible for determining the impact of government legislation, contracts, regulations, and litigation on industry, companies and financial markets.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identify, prioritize, research, and track key legislation and regulation for the Treasury/Tax industry, particularly for issues relating to domestic and international corporate tax rates and reform.
  • Help build and maintain legislative and regulatory watch lists.
  • Facilitate research and analysis between all relevant Bloomberg analysts, including those at Bloomberg Industries, Bloomberg Government and Bloomberg BNA.
  • Author and co-author research on cross-industry and industry-specific legislation/regulation for use in the BI function and other functions on the Bloomberg terminal.
  • Engage in primary research, including regular dialogue with Congressional and agency staffers, companies and associations, and related participants.
  • Write research on a regular basis and communicate it to relevant Bloomberg terminal clients via phone calls, in-person meetings, and online chat.
  • Identify, support and maintain critical policy-related data and functionality on the Bloomberg terminal.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in federal government policy analysis, specializing in the Treasury/Tax sector
  • General knowledge of the Financial Services industry.
  • Exceptional primary research and writing skills.
  • Experience interpreting financial statements and performing quantitative financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting.
  • Self-starter, independent thinker and collaborative team player.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Political Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CFA certification or MBA degree preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel to regional offices as needed.
  • Knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal a plus
