Bloomberg News is looking for an experienced utility operator to cover shifts in our New York City office. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. The person in this role should be an expert in radamec camera systems, floor directing, and wireless handheld cameras with an ENG style lens.

The ideal candidate will understand flow and composition of a live news broadcast. The candidate should have experience working in live television and experience working in a live newsroom is a plus. Operators are expected to work closely with other members of their crew in order to achieve a flawless broadcast.

Our robotics camera operator is responsible for shading all robotic and handheld cameras as well as painting remote feeds. Experience in shading cameras is a required skill, a plus if that body of experience consists of operating SONY RCPs/CCUs. It is also a plus if you have shaded remote feeds.

Floor Directors and Handheld operators will be responsible for moving set pieces such as robotic cameras, monitors and desks before, during and after a show. They are also responsible for dealing directly with talent and guests.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of two years of experience in operating professional broadcast/ENG television camera(s)
• Minimum of one year of experience in professional broadcast/cable live television
