What’s the role?

Bloomberg is looking for a highly motivated Communications Specialist to join the Data and Technology Products Communications team.

To be successful in this role, they must thrive in an environment where they are expected to handle multiple tasks concurrently, be highly proactive, extremely organized, creative in solving problems and diplomatic in dealing with others. 

We’ll trust you to:

  • Build and maintain relationships with priority media and conduct outreach including briefings and proactive pitches
  • Compile and distribute weekly newsletters, ad-hoc coverage reports and case studies for stakeholder and management committee presentations
  • Manage and maintain Communications calendars and media/analyst lists to proactively identify story opportunities
  • Produce and maintain internal and external communications assets including executive bios, briefing documents, company/solution fact sheets, blog/byline content, press releases and presentations
  • Schedule and conduct agency meetings and spokesperson trainings
  • Lead analyst relations program for the data business including scheduling strategic inquiries and briefings and securing research assets that validate product and go to market strategy. Also procure analyst research assets and awards to support high priority sales campaigns
  • Develop and deliver Media and Analyst Relations reporting metrics, including working with cross-functional teams, monitoring vendors, and PR agencies to pull report metrics and coverage data for communications campaigns
  • Partner with global Communications and Marketing team members on the execution of strategic initiatives and programs – both internal and external
  • Research and promote the adoption of communications best practices and guidelines

You'll need to have:

 

  • At least 3 years of Communications, Public Relations of MarComms experience in-house or at an agency
  • Previous experience working with a financial firm or technology company that serves the financial sector is preferred
  • Familiarity with the media outlets, reporters, social influencers and industry analysts that cover the intersection of technology and finance
  • Experience contributing to global media strategies, building message frameworks, creating content and pitching stories
  • Strategic thinker with deep analytical capabilities and a history of using data to solve problems
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with executive presence
  • A healthy balance of collaboration, cooperation and autonomy

Salary Range: 70,000 - 95,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
