ESG Scores Product Manager

The ESG product team is responsible for coordinating ESG product development efforts across Bloomberg. The goal is to improve the terminal experience related to ESG investment workflow and create enterprise data and products that will result in direct revenue. This product group coordinates across the Bloomberg business and functional areas including: Bloomberg Intelligence, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Engineering, Global Data, Enterprise Data, Core Product Teams and Sales.
The end products from this group effort will include improved data discoverability (in terminal), creation of proprietary data and scores, climate, on-boarding third party data, European taxonomy workflow, and ongoing support for the Gender Equality Index. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and support Bloomberg’s ESG scores and ESG data offering for the terminal and for our enterprise customers. Specifically, supporting the development of our current scores to incorporate faster datasets and our impact scores.
We'll trust you to:
Define and communicate the strategy/vision:
- Develop a business plan for Bloomberg’s ESG scores with clear success metrics
- Maintain regular and consistent communication to ensure strategic alignment across key team members
- Establish relationships across the market with financial market practitioners, policy makers etc.
Execution of product:
- Develop the Bloomberg ESG scores in conjunction with our research teams to help users draw insights from these products
- Responsible for setting priorities of work, making trade-offs across priorities and understanding constraints (technical and resource)
- Provide data and engineering team with business context and strategy, manage deliverables, as well as run detailed refinement sessions
- Review and refine strategy based on results vs initial success metrics
Collaboration and stakeholder management:
- Identify and implement product development processes when appropriate to encourage collaboration across key partners and individual contributors
- Partner with Engineering and Data operations to ensure deliverables are well understood and align with the overall business goals
- Work with Marketing and Sales to promote our product to client
You’ll need to have:
- 5+ years of related experience*
- Demonstrated understanding of various user types and workflows in the governance space
- Experience building quantitative scores, ideally aligned to ESG Financial materiality or refining models to aggregate scores
- A quantitative background with practical experience harnessing APIs
- Experience implementing a product or solution end to end, from vision to execution
- Knowledge of Buy Side workflow
We'd love to see:
- Proven ability to engage across functions and understand other teams’ business goals to find mutually beneficial solutions
- An understanding of the key players and developments within the ESG space
- Prior experience using the Bloomberg Terminal
- Experience with Python
- A strategic mind set and the ability to represent plans to senior management and across teams
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and conceptual thinking aptitude
- CFA or MBA

Salary Range: 140,000 - 295,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
