The Bloomberg Standard Data Model (BSDM) team lays the foundation for customers to answer to these questions. Financial market participants are consuming more data than ever before and at an accelerating rate. As the demand for machine-readable data continues to grow, the need to standardize, define and document our metadata is essential in order for our clients to consume our data more efficiently. That’s where you come in.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in an interactive, communicative environment and strives to provide extraordinary service and support. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to ensuring the integrity of Bloomberg's financial Data Model, which is the foundation of our business.

We’ll expect you to:

• Understand Bloomberg’s standard data model and resolve legacy data models across the organization to it.
• Automate the validation of legacy data models to the standard data model.
• Act as a liaison between Business, Engineering and Global Data departments.
• Help stakeholders understand inconsistencies and how to resolve them
• Provide support to other BSDM experts, identifying areas where scripts can help scale coverage.

You’ll need to have:

• 3 or more years working in a Data Architect role
• Experience writing shell scripts and wrappers
• Literate in a programming language (e.g. Java, Scala, Python)
• Familiarity with FpML, FIBO, or ISO 20022
• Experience representing data models in the Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Ability to distill technical concepts in understandable terms to stakeholders
• Relevant Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD preferred
