Bloomberg runs on data, and as part of the Data team, we're responsible for acquiring it, providing it to our clients and helping derive significant insights out of it. We collect, analyze, process, and publish the data, which is the backbone of our iconic Bloomberg Terminal and our enterprise products - the facts and figures which ultimately move the financial markets. We apply problem-solving skills to identify innovative workflow efficiencies, and we implement technology solutions to improve our systems, products, and processes - and all this while providing platinum customer support to clients.  
 
Equities Data Management Analysts leverage knowledge of the financial markets, understanding of clients’ needs, and demonstrated technical expertise to enhance our data products by generating premium content. The role will enhance and optimize the acquisition, data processing and automation capabilities of Pharma, Bloomberg Intelligence, and ESG through open source, third party and proprietary technology.? Our focus is on data acquisition, processing, validation and storage. We’re constantly innovating to create better more efficient systems to handle the huge variety of data we acquire and deliver to our clients. We work in close collaboration with other Data teams and departments such as Engineering and utilize this network to achieve results. As a leader in the organization, they also train and mentor others and are trusted to deploy code to production. 
 
We’ll trust you to: 

  • Research new data sets to expand the coverage of our products 
  • Build database schema and configure ETL software to onboard new data sets 
  • Analyze internal processes to find opportunities for improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions 
  • Build quality data workflows to verify and validate third party data 
  • Maintain workflow configurations for critical functions such as acquisition, worklist management, and quality control 
  • Combine your subject-matter-expertise and technical skills to generate premium content such as data-driven news stories 
  • Train and mentor other team members 
  • Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for governance 
  • Provide customer support for users of Bloomberg ESG products resolving inquiries in a timely manner 
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders from Engineering to Sales on product development 
  • Apply data visualization skills to report on results of on-going operations and projects, as required 
  •  
    You’ll need to have: 
  • A BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience  
  • 2+ years of Python programming and scripting in a production environment 
  • 2+ years of experience working with databases either SQL or NoSQL 
  • Understanding of large-scale, distributed systems 
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving, particularly to modify and enhance processes and workflows 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining technical processes and solutions to business stakeholders and management 
  • High attention to detail and degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Ability to influence others and lead change 
  • Experience training and mentoring others

Salary Range: 80,000 - 110,000 USD Annually + Benefits

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
