Bloomberg Digital is seeking an experienced, passionate leader with a vision for the future of video to oversee our talented global team of producers, directors, animators, and editors. In addition to telling stories through world-class digital video, this leader is also tasked with broad oversight of the ongoing evolution of Bloomberg's digital video team and strategy across platforms, from the web to apps and OTT. Working closely with counterparts throughout the newsroom and across the business, the Executive Producer is a key member of a multi-disciplinary group of Bloomberg leaders responsible for exploring the future of journalism and the media business.
The ideal candidate is also a seasoned performer in a digital newsroom; she or he is someone who is comfortable with making lots of decisions about lots of stories very quickly and who understands the tools, trends, platforms, and processes behind the most modern strategies for telling stories on the web. The job requires a commitment to the best journalistic practices, impeccable judgment under fire, great taste, and a willingness to take risks.

The Executive Producer is hungry, positive, energetic, and most importantly a collaborator with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate is a person who innately understands the role and potential of technology in the newsroom, but also possesses a deep appreciation for the ideals of traditional media.

Competitive candidates possess:

  • 8+ years of experience in film and digital video production with an emphasis on leading global teams and building successful businesses
  • 3+ years at a top tier digital publisher
  • Experience managing P&Ls
  • A deep understanding of social media
  • Experience working closely with partners in sales and marketing
  • A passion for video on the web and all of its present and future platforms
  • Familiarity with audiences and markets beyond the United States
  • Enthusiasm for diving into the trenches of a production and for entering the board room to present to senior management
  • A deep understanding of Bloomberg's space and competitors' strategies

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the overall quality and success of the global digital video team, as measured by audience growth, engagement, and recognition. Additionally, you will:
  • Collaborate with leaders across Bloomberg to constantly evolve and improve our processes and tools
  • Work with the digital video team and other editorial teams to develop, pitch, and execute new video properties and platforms
  • Collaborate with the audience development and product marketing teams to distribute our video to the right people, at the right times, in the right formats, on the right platforms
