Bloomberg Media Group is seeking an overnight Studio Broadcast Multi-Skilled operator in a live 24/7 broadcast environment at our World Headquarters in New York City. The candidate will be responsible for operating the Sliding breaks and handling A2 (Audio Assistance) operation.
 
A Sliding Break operator's main responsibility is to keep the time for the show. The candidate is responsible for rolling the soft commercial breaks while monitoring LIVE broadcast. The candidate should be able to do basic time mathematics and calculate in and out block times on the fly.
 
An A2 operator’s main responsibility is to assist the audio operator by delivering the microphones and IFBs to all reporters and guests. Dress the Mic and IFB for each guest properly. Monitor battery levels and troubleshoot any issues. Coordinate with the audio operator to avoid any problems. Organize and maintain our audio equipment and assist with daily MIC/IFB checks.
 
This position requires the individual to be able to work overnight shifts and some holiday shifts may be required. The candidate must be able to sit and or stand for many hours. The candidates should also be prepared to operate a live broadcast sequencer to count a live control room in and out of commercial breaks while communicating with New York and London master controls.

  •  Operate the sliding break PC during live events
  •  Ensure the sliding PC is in working condition before on-air programming
  •  Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment
  •  Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel
  •  Understand the flow and composition of a live news broadcast

YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:

  •  Bachelor's degree
  •  Familiarity with the dynamics of a live studio environment
  •  Willingness to work weekends, overnights, early mornings and holidays
  •  Ability to work in highly distracting settings and under considerable pressure
  •  Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills

Salary Range: 35 - 35 USD Hourly

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
